State compensation

The Ministry of Transport and Communications, together with LTG Link, has introduced a state compensation measure in response to the recent rise in fuel prices, reducing the price of all train tickets in Lithuania.

From 1 April to 31 May, passengers can purchase train tickets at a 50 % lower price on all domestic routes.

‼️This 50 percent discount is added on top of the fare reductions established in the Law on Public Passenger Transport Discounts of the Republic of Lithuania. This means that families travelling on weekends, students, schoolchildren and seniors can travel even more affordably.

Terms and Conditions of the Discount

The ticket prices shown across all sales channels already include the 50 % discount.
The 50 % discount applies only to domestic train routes.
The 50 % discount is valid for tickets purchased for travel between 1 April and 31 May 2026.
Tickets with the 50 % discount can be purchased starting 1 April 2026.
The discount applies when buying train tickets via the LTG Link website www.ltglink.lt, the mobile app, ticket machines, Perlas terminals, on board trains, and through international ticket distribution channels (Distribution).
The discount applies when travelling in 1st, 2nd and 3rd class.
This discount is added on top of the fare reductions established in the Law on Public Passenger Transport Discounts.
The discount cannot be combined with other commercial discounts (round‑trip discount, group discount, Family Card discount, parent/guardian weekday discount).
The discount applies to season tickets.
The discount does not apply to additional services or gift vouchers.
Tickets purchased with this commercial discount can be exchanged or refunded in accordance with the conditions set out in LTG Link’s General Passenger Transport Rules.
For tickets purchased with the “Train Travellers Club” birthday discount for April travel, we recommend refunding them and purchasing new tickets. This will allow you to benefit from the current 50 percent discount.

During which period is the 50 % discount applied? The 50 % discount applies to journeys from 1st of April to 31st of May (the last day a passenger can travel by train with the 50% discount is 31st of May).
Will the 50% discount be applied automatically when purchasing tickets? Yes, the discount will be applied automatically when purchasing tickets.
Does the 50% discount apply to all ticket types (single, travelpasses)? Yes, the 50% discount applies to both single tickets and travelpasses (1-day fixed term ticket, 30-day fixed term tickets and 30-day fixed-term ticket, valid for weekdays from Monday to Friday).
Does dynamic pricing apply during the promotional period (from 1st of April to 31st of May)? No, dynamic pricing does not apply.
In which ticket sales channels are the 50 % discount valid? The discount applies when purchasing tickets on the LTG Link website www.ltglink.lt, in the LTG Link mobile application, at Perlas terminals, ticket machines, on trains, and through international ticket sales channels (Distribution).
In which classes are the 50 % discount applied? In 1st, 2nd, and 3rd class.
Does the 50 % discount apply to both domestic and international routes? The discount applies only to domestic routes (within the territory of Lithuania).
Is the 50 % discount combined with concessions? Yes, the 50 % discount is combined with the concessions established under the Law on Transport Concessions of the Republic of Lithuania. The 50% commercial discount is applied first, followed by the statutory concession.
Do parents / adoptive parents and guardians receive an additional 50% discount? On weekends and public holidays parents / adoptive parents and guardians receive a 50 % concession and an additional 50 % commercial discount. The 50 % commercial discount is applied first, followed by the concession. On working days, parents / adoptive parents and guardians travel with a 50 % commercial discount. Since commercial discounts are not cumulative, the additional 50 % commercial discount does not apply on working days.
Is the 50% discount combined with other LTG Link commercial discounts? If a customer selects (or is assigned) several commercial discounts, only one — whichever is more beneficial — will be applied. From 1st of April to 31st of May, a 50 % commercial discount will be automatically applied to all domestic route tickets; therefore, other LTG Link commercial discounts (e.g., a 5% return ticket discount, group discounts from 10% to 20%, and the Family Card discount) will not apply during this period.
Until when can tickets with a 50% discount be purchased and activated? One-day tickets with a 50% discount can be purchased from 1st of April to 31st of May (inclusive). The latest activation date is 31st of May. 30-day fixed term tickets and 30-day fixed-term ticket, valid for weekdays from Monday to Friday can be purchased from 1st of April to 2nd of May (inclusive) with a 50% discount. The latest activation date is 2nd of May.
Does the 50% discount apply to additional services? No, the discount does not apply to additional services (for pets, luggage, bicycles, city public transport tickets, etc.). It also does not apply to gift vouchers.
What exchange and refund conditions apply to tickets purchased before 1st of April (for travel from 1st of April)? Tickets purchased before 1st of April (for travel from 1st of April) are subject to standard exchange/refund conditions. If a season ticket or one-day ticket is returned before its validity period begins, 100% of the ticket price is refunded. A single ticket or additional services ticket can be returned no later than 24 hours before the train’s departure with a 90% refund. What exchange and refund conditions apply to tickets purchased from 1st of April?
