The Forest Train

Have you ever wondered what kind of nature and wildlife thrive beyond the train window? As you travel to Kaunas, you might be passing by dormice, which spend most of the year sleeping and are only active for a few months. You may also spot majestic noble deer, whose large, branched antlers are not meant for defense but for display, or even catch a glimpse of the elusive lynx!

The Forest Train is a unique journey on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Vilnius route. The interior of the train is transformed into a forest oasis, revealing the secrets of nature through engaging visual and narrative installations!

🦉 Bringing nature's wonders to life

The Forest Train was brought to life in collaboration with renowned nature photographer, writer, and ornithologist Marius Čepulis. He carefully curated fascinating facts about the animals living along the Vilnius–Kaunas route. Many of the stunning images featured on the train are also his work!

The Forest Train launches on March 20, World Earth Day, and will run for a full year!

🚆 Route

The train follows the usual Vilnius–Kaunas–Vilnius route. Additionally, on Fridays in March and April, travelers on the Vilnius–Trakai–Vilnius route will also have the chance to experience this special journey.

• Windows remain undecorated, but ceilings and tables feature forest-themed elements—and nature always has surprises in store!
• For the full Forest Train experience, we recommend choosing 2nd class.

• Expect authentic wildlife and forest illustrations, along with stories printed directly on the windows.
• Certain sections of the train have been transformed into miniature forests, offering passengers a true sense of immersion in nature.

🎫 Seats on the Forest Train are available only with advance ticket purchase at www.ltglink.lt or via the LTG Link mobile app.

🧒 Children under 7 travel free if they do not occupy a separate seat in 2nd Class. A 50% discount applies to tickets for children under 10 who require their own seat in 2nd Class.

🚂 Unexpected changes – If a train change is required due to technical or operational disruptions, decorations will not be transferred to replacement trains or vehicles.
