LTG Link is part of the AB Lietuvos geležinkeliai Group, which encourages people to travel by train, an environmentally friendly and safe means of transport. The company's aim is to create a new travel culture and become the first choice for passengers, valued for its high level of service, operational efficiency and management. As of 1 September 2019, the company continues to operate as a separate legal entity, which was previously known as the Directorate of Passanger Transport of AB Lietuvos geležinkeliai.

The operational objectives of LTG Link UAB are set out in The Articles of Association of the Company:
- To enhance the Company’s operational efficiency by increasing the attractiveness of railway transport and related services for customers in Lithuania and abroad.
- To ensure effective Company operations in the provision of railway transport and related public services, implementing the state’s strategic interests to the extent defined by legislation and competent public authorities, while considering the needs of the state, railway transport service users, and the Company’s financial capabilities.
- To pursue socially responsible and sustainable growth of the Company’s business value and ensure long‑term benefits for the shareholder.
- The Company’s core activity is the provision of public passenger rail transport services, public combined passenger transport services on domestic routes, and related services.
